London 2012 Home Head Journey

Why we're getting behind Yvette and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local synchronised swimmer, Yvette Baker as she attempts to qualify a place at for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Sutton Coldfield-born Yvette, who has trained at the City of Birmingham, now trains in Aldershot. She has been a synchronised swimmer since 2001. Her first achievement was winning the duet and under 12 events at the Warwickshire Championships.

‘This is just so great,’ said Yvette. ‘I can't thank Sytner Sutton Coldfield and MINI enough. I spend a lot of time driving to and from training sessions and driving to events ahead of London 2012 so having a brand new car is amazing. Suddenly, I'm the envy of all my friends!’

‘We're really pleased to be backing Khalid, said Mark Hickman, Dealer Principal at Sytner Birmingham. ‘Attempting to qualify for the London 2012 Games can't be easy so we're more than happy to help in any way we can. It's also a great opportunity for everyone connected with the dealership to get more involved with the 2012 Games.’
